Dr. Nidal Jboor is an internist based in Dearborn, Michigan, and a co-founder of Doctors Against Genocide (DAG), an organization established in response to the genocidal tactics waged against Palestinians in Gaza. Alongside Dr. Karameh Hawash-Kuemmerle, Dr. Jboor formed DAG out of a profound concern for the escalating violence and dehumanization employed by the Israeli Army. The organization aims to bridge the gap between medical ethics and the prevention of genocides, driven by a commitment to uphold the medical oath of “do no harm.”
In his advocacy, Dr. Jboor has been a prominent advocate for humanitarian intervention, frequently calling for a ceasefire and increased aid to Gaza. At a Capitol Hill press conference, he urged the Biden administration and other politicians to take immediate action to halt the genocide and mass murder occurring in Palestine. His passionate plea highlights DAG’s core belief that the principle of “Never Again” should apply universally, advocating for the protection and care of all people, irrespective of their race or nationality. Dr. Jboor completed his medical education at the University of Jordan in 1993, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the University of Toledo and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Case Western University.
