Dr. Jomana Al-Hinti is a Palestinian American neurologist, educator, activist, and community organizer based in Toledo, Ohio. A co-founder of the Toledo chapter of American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), Dr. Al-Hinti is also an active member of Doctors Against Genocide (DAG) and Healthcare Workers for Palestine (HCW4P).
In May 2024, Dr. Al-Hinti embarked on a medical mission to Gaza, where she provided critical care at the European Hospital. Despite the closure of the Rafah Border Crossing and the option to evacuate, she bravely chose to stay, motivated by a commitment to her patients and fellow healthcare workers..
Dr. Al-Hinti has shared the personal toll of her decision, acknowledging the concerns of her family in the U.S. while emphasizing her dedication to addressing the urgent needs of patients in Gaza. She has called for increased support and understanding from the Biden Administration, to ensure that medical missions in Gaza can continue and that healthcare professionals are not left behind in the midst of the crisis.
